What is the typical production lead time for custom silicone products from Lemeng Silicone?

The overall timeline is influenced by factors such as product structural complexity, mold-making requirements, sample approval, order volume, and the need for third-party testing. The stages are outlined below:

1. Prototyping Only (Existing drawings/samples; no new mold required)

Drawing confirmation + machine setup & sampling: 3–7 working days; simple flat silicone parts take as little as 3 days, while complex, multi-color, or over-molded products generally take 5–7 days. (Excludes shipping time.)

2. New Mold Required (From design to sample approval)

Drawing optimization + mold fabrication: 7–15 working days; simple single-cavity molds take around 7 days, while complex multi-cavity, over-molding, or irregular-structure molds require 12–15 days.

Mold trials + sample modifications: 3–7 days (timeline extends based on the number of mold revisions).

Total time from project launch to final sample approval: typically 10–22 days.

3. Mass Production Stage (After final sample approval)

Small-batch orders (hundreds to a few thousand units): 5–10 working days

Medium-to-large batch orders (tens of thousands of units): 10–20 working days

If third-party testing (e.g., FDA, LFGB) is required, add an extra 7–15 days for the testing process.

Key factors affecting delivery time:

Product structure: Thin-walled, multi-color, over-molded, or textured complex parts require longer mold-making and production times;

Mold revisions: Repeated structural or aesthetic adjustments extend the overall project timeline;

Certification requirements: Cross-border export products requiring third-party testing need allocated time for the testing process;

Production scheduling: During peak seasons, production schedules are tight, potentially delaying delivery; clients will be notified of this in advance.

Lemeng operates its own in-house mold shop and molding workshop; molds are not outsourced. This eliminates the communication and transit time associated with external mold making. A clear project schedule is provided at the start, with progress updates synchronized at every milestone.
